Julie Jordan Interviewed by GC Agenda

February 29, 2016

In February, Ms. Jordan was interviewed for the Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution section of GC Agenda, which provides “a round-up of major horizon issues for General Counsel.” Ms. Jordan's section covers highlights from the SEC's 2015 Annual Report on the Dodd-Frank Whistleblower Program, discussing which whistleblower enforcement actions the SEC will pursue in 2016, the unsettled contours of the Dodd-Frank Act's anti-retaliation provisions and giving advice to in-house counsel on improving their companies' compliance programs. The section also compares foreign judgments and foreign awards in arbitration cases, exploring a recent New York Supreme Court decision, Passport Special Opportunities Master Fund, L.P. v. ARY Commc'ns, Ltd. The case demonstrates that “foreign award creditors should consider obtaining a judgment at the seat of a foreign arbitration because it may be easier to enforce that foreign judgment than the foreign New York Convention arbitral award.”
