Law360 Publishes 2016 Practice Group of the Year Profile of S&C Capital Markets Practice

February 16, 2017

On February 16, Law360 published a profile of S&C's capital markets practice as part of the group's 2016 Practice Group of the Year win. The article highlighted the Firm's global approach evident in its work on matters such as Japan Post Holdings Co.'s one-day triple listing during a major privatization, which was Japan's largest IPO this century. “You were essentially doing three IPOs at the same time that were all conditioned on each other,” Robert Downes said. “It was quite an accomplishment.”
The article also highlighted multidisciplinary matters such as the Firm's work on Anheuser-Busch InBev SA's issuance of $46 billion in debt to finance its $120 billion takeover of SABMiller PLC and its work advising BNP Paribas's $560 million IPO of First Hawaiian Bank while undergoing a major reorganization. “I think it's a great example of the collaborative, multidisciplinary approach we have here,” Catherine Clarkin said of the BNP Paribas matter. “It was important that the regulatory aspect be understood in the context of the IPO.”
