Rodge Cohen and Michael Wiseman Interviewed in Bank Director

February 10, 2014

In its first quarter 2014 issue, Bank Director published an interview with Messrs. Wiseman and Cohen regarding changes in regulation and supervision in the banking industry over the last few years. In the interview, Messrs. Wiseman and Cohen discuss the stricter regulatory climate that has taken hold since the financial crisis, and explore specific facets such as the Dodd-Frank Act, Basel III standards and macroprudential regulation. When asked about the future of the financial services industry, Mr. Wiseman answered, “I don't think that anyone in banking could actually say how they think the banking system is going to look five years from now, and be engaging in anything except wild speculation.” On the topic of accountability, Mr. Cohen explained, “Undoubtedly the regulators missed some things and they made mistakes, but the principal responsibility has to be with the banks themselves, not their regulators.”
