On June 23, Mr. Aquila appeared as a guest on Bloomberg TV's Street Smart in a segment titled, “Merger Mania: Good or Bad for Investors?” Mr. Aquila discussed recent M&A activity with Jeff McCracken, Bloomberg News Global M&A managing editor, Bloomberg TV's Jonathan Ferro and Street Smart Anchor Trish Regan. Mr. Aquila made the point that a key metric in evaluating acquisitions was whether the deal would enhance the acquiror's long term shareholder value growth. He noted that most of the current “deals are being done for strategic reasons” so as a consequence these are transactions that not only “work in the medium term... but in most cases we are seeing deals that work for the long term.”
