Mike Cooper Honored by the New York City Bar’s Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice

On September 27, Mr. Cooper was awarded the Cyrus R. Vance Access to Justice Award in New York City. The award was presented by Mr. Seymour, who introduced Mr. Cooper as a “living example of the legacy of Cy Vance.” Mr. Cooper was honored for his exemplary dedication to pro bono initiatives around the globe through his work at S&C, as well several public service organizations. Mr. Cooper has served in leadership roles with the Legal Aid Society, Probono.Net, the New York State Lawyer Assistance Trust, Volunteers of Legal Services and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. In 2000, while president of the New York City Bar Association, Mr. Cooper hosted a symposium titled, “Partnerships Across Borders: A Global Forum on Access to Justice.” This symposium led to the creation of the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice in 2003.
