Melissa Sawyer authored a blog post on the website of the Retail Industry Leaders Association titled “2021: Proxy Season ESG Lookback: Key Takeaways for Retail.” In the post, Melissa highlights a few key developments from the 2021 proxy season that the retail industry should be aware of. These included the prevalence of environmental and social/political proposals, particularly in the retail sector, with social capital management representing the largest subcategory of these proposals; as well as the upward trend for environmental proposals, which are expected to become more prominent in the upcoming proxy season.
