Nirav N. Mehta joined the Firm’s Tokyo office in 2018 and has been Special Counsel since 2019. His practice focuses on capital markets and other corporate transactions, and he has a broad range of experience representing issuers, underwriters and other market participants, including initial and follow-on public offerings of equity and senior and subordinated note offerings as well as consent solicitations, exchange offers and other liability management transactions, both on a registered basis and pursuant to various exemptions from registration with the SEC.
 
A native speaker of English, Mr. Mehta is also a fluent speaker of Japanese.

  • Nippon Prologis REIT, Inc. in its $325 million follow-on global offering of investment units in 2020. 
  • Nomura Holdings, Inc. in its $3.0 billion offering of senior notes pursuant to an automatically effective shelf registration statement in 2020, the first ever issuance of TLAC-qualifying notes by a non-bank Japanese financial institution
  • Japan Post Insurance in its $2.9 billion global equity offering in 2019
  • Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited in an Exxon Capital exchange offer over $4.5 billion of senior notes in 2019, the first ever by a Japanese issuer
  • Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited in its listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018
