Law360 Publishes 2016 Practice Group of the Year Profile of S&C Energy Practice

January 25, 2017

On January 25, Law360 published a 2016 Practice Group of the Year profile of S&C's energy practice. The piece explained the Firm's multidisciplinary approach to energy matters. “We work across offices, across practice areas, across continents,” Joseph Frumkin told Law360. “Clients are always commenting about how seamless we make it seem. I think that leads both to terrific quality and terrific efficiency in the way we can execute things by getting exactly the right person to do exactly the right part of any given project that we take on for a client.”
The piece also outlined major energy matters on which S&C advised in 2016, including the $16 billion Tengizchevroil financing, the pending $43 billion merger of Enbridge with Spectra Energy Corp. and Pepco Holdings's $6.6 billion merger with Exelon. “Doing any project in an emerging market is difficult, especially with the size of a deal like this one,” Inosi Nyatta told Law360 of the Tengizchevroil financing. “But they were able to get this deal done quite successfully, with quite a significant amount, and structure it in a way where they got a higher rating than [the Kazakh] sovereign.”
