Karen Seymour and Sam Seymour Profiled in The Wall Street Journal

November 28, 2014

On November 28, The Wall Street Journal profiled Ms. Seymour and Mr. Seymour in the article, “Partners in Law (and Life) Go to Bat for Banks.” The article reviews some of the sanctions enforcement cases Ms. Seymour and Mr. Seymour have worked on, including six of the seven largest sanctions settlements ever and, specifically, the work S&C has done on behalf of BNP Paribas SA in its unprecedented criminal settlement for violating U.S. economic sanctions. WSJ reports, “Banks have long turned to Sullivan & Cromwell to handle high-stakes cases. Some of the biggest settlements have involved violations of U.S. economic sanctions, a legal market the firm has dominated, in no small part, because of Ms. Seymour and her husband, Sam.”
