Asian Legal Business recognized Japan Post Holdings’ $7.4 billion global equity offering as “Equity Market Deal of the Year” at the Japan Law Awards.
S&C represented Japan Post Holdings in the global offering consisting of a domestic public offering in Japan and an international offering overseas. The firm also represented the Minister of Finance, as representative of the Japanese government, which was a selling shareholder.
Japan Post Holdings is a holding company for various operating subsidiaries, including Japan Post Co., the principal postal operator in Japan. S&C previously represented Japan Post Holdings and the Minister of Finance in the company’s 2015 IPO and 2017 follow-on offering. This offering represents the completion for the time being of the required dispositions by the Japanese government of its equity interests in Japan Post Holdings under the Postal Service Privatization Act.
