    On April 7, 2025, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a memorandum to all Department of Justice employees announcing an overhaul of previous enforcement directives relating to digital assets. The memorandum refocuses the Department’s cryptocurrency and digital asset enforcement efforts to prioritize prosecutions of those in the digital asset space who victimize investors or further terrorism, narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, organized crime, computer hacking, and cartel and gang activities.
