S&C Partner Vanessa Blackmore and Practice Area Associate Matthew Triggs co-authored the UK Chapter of Lexology’s In-Depth: Shareholder Rights and Activism, a global reference guide providing legal and corporate practitioners with an overview of the legal framework of shareholder activism and emerging trends in various jurisdictions.

The authors provide insight into the UK shareholder activism landscape, including interest from U.S. activists; a decline in climate resolutions; and recent campaigns against UK-listed investment trusts. Looking ahead, Vanessa and Matthew note that activists are likely to focus on value-oriented investment theses, though adding that the recent success of assertive campaigns may lead activists to adopt more confrontational approaches.
