S&C private equity group co-heads Brian Hamilton and Rita-Anne O’Neill, together with associate Kelly Meric, authored an article for Financier Worldwide, “Private equity activity in the COVID-19 environment.” The authors explain that, despite the volatility that has accompanied the outbreak, financial sponsors and other private equity investors remain in active pursuit of investment opportunities. Their challenge, the authors observe, is “identifying investments that will provide the rate of return their investors expect, while remaining somewhat resilient during a potentially prolonged market dislocation.”
The authors explore how investors can identify the right opportunities, including the advantages offered by PIPE transactions and Chapter 11 restructurings.
