S&C partner Renata Hesse, co-head of the Firm’s Antitrust Group, was featured along with associate Samantha Hynes in a new book titled Women & Antitrust: Voices from the Field. In the book, leading competition professionals from around the world offer reflections and forecasts on topical issues in antitrust and competition law and policy.
Renata was interviewed on, among other subjects: whether current antitrust rules are sufficient to handle the challenges of the digital economy; the consumer welfare standard; and how antitrust agencies can strike a balance between protecting intellectual property rights and the principles of antitrust law.
Samantha Hynes interviewed Patty Brink, the former Director of Civil Enforcement at the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division. Topics discussed included civil enforcement, international cooperation, and different competition authorities’ approach to vertical mergers, among other subjects.
