S&C Partners Sergio Galvis and Benjamin Kent and associate Sergio Garrido Vallespí co-authored an article for the April 2026 issue of Financier Worldwide Magazine analyzing the use of infrastructure unbundling, in which assets more capable of generating stable cash flows are detached and separately financed, enabling companies in sectors such as mining to access longer-duration, lower-cost financing capital than might otherwise be available. Looking ahead, the authors discuss a shift in how hybrid sectors are approaching capital structuring. “As digital infrastructure, energy transition projects and other hybrid business models continue to mature, this approach is likely to become more prevalent,” they write. “It reflects a move away from treating the entire company as a single risk profile and toward assessing and financing assets based on their individual characteristics.”
