S&C Partners Brian Hamilton and Lee Parnes co-authored an article for Financier Worldwide discussing alternative strategies and opportunities available to private equity sponsors in the wake of a series of challenges seen across the industry over the last few years. Higher interest rates, depressed exit activity and prolonged fundraising periods have forced many to find new methods to drive returns.
The article summarizes these methods, including using dedicated operating partner teams and pursuing alternative deal structures. Despite the decrease in activity over the last few years, the authors note an optimistic outlook for the road ahead. “We expect to see significant activity for certain types of PE transactions regardless of rate cuts.”
