Gwen Wong Named a “M&A Lawyer of the Year” by Women in Business Law Awards APAC  

Gwen Wong, the managing partner of S&C’s Beijing office, has been named a “M&A Lawyer of the Year” at the Women in Business Law Awards APAC by Euromoney II. The awards recognize the “leading women lawyers throughout the region and celebrate the law firms that have impressive initiatives to promote diversity and women in the legal industry.”

Gwen’s extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions includes representing parties on complex cross-border deals, public takeovers, privatizations, private sales and purchases, consortium bids and private equity investments and exits.

Gwen is advising China Mengniu Dairy, one of China's leading dairy products producers, in its three transactions with Danone to unwind their existing relationships and its potential privatization of Yashili. She recently advised Taiwan Cement Corporation in its acquisition of a 60.48 percent stake in Engie Eps SA for €132 million (US$159 million) and the mandatory tender offer for all the outstanding issued share capital of Engie. She also advised Sequoia China in a voluntary general offer for all issued H shares and domestic shares of Zhejiang New Century Hotel Management by a consortium comprising of Sequoia China and Ocean Link, valuing the company at US$656 million.
