On September 26, Rebecca Simmons spoke on regulation of virtual currencies as part of a session titled “Private Crypto Assets and Central Bank Digital Currencies” at the International Monetary Fund’s Law & Financial Stability High Level Seminar: The Rule of Law in a Digital World. The session covered the various crypto assets that have come about since Bitcoin, and their potential legal benefits and risks. Rebecca also acted as the facilitator of a panel of central bank representatives to discuss the regulation of virtual currencies in jurisdictions around the world.
