On June 20, S&C collaborated with Mexican law firms Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa and Galicia Abogados to host a seminar titled “Energy and Infrastructure Investments in Mexico: Tax and Other Key Structuring Issues.” The seminar took place in S&C’s New York offices and featured opening and closing remarks by Mr. Mann, as well as two panels. The first panel, “Successful Structuring of FIBRA E Vehicles,” covering tax considerations involving FIBRA E vehicles and related issues relevant to U.S. investors, among other topics, included the participation of Ms. Nyatta and Mr. Spitzer. The second panel, titled “Key Issues in Other Energy/Infrastructure Investments,” covering new opportunities and oil and gas tax provisions under Mexico’s recent energy reform, as well as structuring issues in cross-border investments, also counted on Mr. Spitzer’s participation and was moderated by Mr. Ahlers. The event was attended by banking, pension fund and advisory firm clients, as well as lawyers from S&C and the two Mexican firms.
