2017 FIA L&C Annual Conference

At the Futures Industry Association Law & Compliance (FIA L&C) Annual Conference, which was held from May 3 to 5 in Washington, D.C., Kenneth Raisler moderated a panel titled “Where Are We Going?”, addressing potential legislative changes to the Commodity Exchange Act and regulatory changes to CFTC regulations.

Rebecca Simmons presented on a panel titled “Advanced Bankruptcy: Tales from the Crypt - The Slow and Painful Demise,” addressing issues that may arise during a complex futures commission merchant insolvency.

In addition, Ryne Miller presented on a panel titled “Non-Competitive Trading Exceptions: EFRPs, Block Trades & Transfer Trades,” addressing the latest regulatory issues associated with exceptions to the competitive execution requirement for futures contracts.

The FIA L&C annual conference includes more than 800 attendees and three days of panels addressing the regulation of futures, derivatives and over-the-counter products.
