S&C partner Nicole Friedlander, co-head of the firm’s cybersecurity practice, spoke at the virtual conference hosted by New York University School of Law’s Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement, “Confronting Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Challenges in Times of Unprecedented Change.” Linda Lacewell of the New York State Department of Financial Services delivered the keynote at the October 14 event, announcing the DFS’s release of its investigative report on the July 2020 hack of Twitter. Nicky spoke on a panel titled, “Board and Executive Duties and Best Practices in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy,” with co-panelists Thomas Glocer, lead outside director of Morgan Stanley and executive chairman of Blue Voyant LLC; Jules Ponetsky, CEO of the Future of Privacy Forum; and Myrna Soto, a director of Popular, Inc., Spirit Airlines, and CMS Energy, and chief strategy and trust officer at Forcepoint. The panel was moderated by Judith Germano, the founder of Germano Law and a Distinguished Fellow at NYU’s Center for Cybersecurity.
