Washington, District of Columbia

On October 6, Mr. McIntosh spoke at the D.C. Bar’s “Supreme Court in Focus” CLE program on Bank of America Corp. v. City of Miami and Wells Fargo v. City of Miami, Fair Housing Act cases pending in the Supreme Court that address whether cities have standing to bring FHA claims based on decreased tax revenues and increased costs of municipal services alleged to have been caused by discriminatory high-cost mortgage lending. In both cases, at both the certiorari and merits stages, S&C has represented amici curiae the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) in support of the petitioner banks. The team representing the Chamber and PCI is Messrs. Cohen, McIntosh, Wall and Liolos.
