Frank Aquila and Melissa Sawyer to Speak at The Deal’s Shareholder Activism Seminar

Frank Aquila, S&C’s global head of M&A, and Melissa Sawyer, co-head of the Firm’s Corporate Governance practice, will speak at The Deal’s 2021 Shareholder Activism Seminar, to take place virtually February 24 and 25.The seminar will explore strategies companies are employing to defend themselves from activists and hostile bids amid the pandemic. It will also examine how activists are approaching their campaigns during one of the biggest economic disruptions of the past century.
Frank will moderate and Melissa will participate on a panel, “Governance Diversity,” on February 25 at 1:30 p.m. ET. The panel will review the latest in governance standards, which are increasingly focused on demographic and gender diversity and executive pay. Panelists will offer their insights on recommendations, policy changes and listing standards that could drive shareholders to seek change at companies that have fallen behind the times.
