Rodge Cohen Comments on Implications of Brexit for U.S. Banks in American Banker

June 24, 2016

On June 24, Mr. Cohen was quoted in an American Banker article titled “Brexit 'Extraordinarily Dangerous' for U.S. Banks.” The article discussed several consequences of the United Kingdom's vote to leave the European Union this week, including the likelihood of U.S. banks needing to restructure their foreign operations. Mr. Cohen commented on the issue of cross-border resolution planning and how the U.K. has “been at the center” of the negotiations. Mr. Cohen said, "So much cooperation and collaboration has been between the Bank of England and the U.S. — and it may take some time to reestablish that wherever else it may be."
