Forum on Financial Institutions Enforcement

On April 16 and 17, Mr. Bourtin chaired the Forum on Financial Institutions Enforcement in Greenwich, Connecticut. Ms. Davy and Mr. Meyer also attended the Forum. The Forum included senior in-house lawyers and outside litigators from the United States the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia to discuss the evolving climate in enforcement actions against financial institutions, and included presentations and debates on various topics. Mr. Bourtin and Ms. Davy presented on “Monitors and Bank Consultants,” which covered the process for identifying and appointing a monitor, defining the scope of a monitor’s role, current regulatory expectations concerning independence, privilege considerations and best practices in using monitors and consultants. This is the second year in a row that Mr. Bourtin has chaired the event.
