American Bar Association Annual Meeting

On August 10, Thomas Baxter, Andrew Dietderich, John Estes, Sergio Galvis, Bob Giuffra and Melissa Sawyer participated in the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association, which was held in New York City.

Andrew co-chaired the Financial Restructuring/Insolvency Track, which included programs involving several S&C partners. Sergio chaired and moderated a panel titled “Bondholders’ Rights in Municipal and Sovereign Restructurings,” and John participated in a panel titled “New Challenges to Out-of-Court Exchange Offers.” Thomas gave a lunch program speech focused on progress in addressing the Too Big to Fail problem since the financial crisis.

Bob participated as a panelist on a program titled “Winning Commercial Cases Before Trial: Insights from the Experts,” which was part of the Commercial Litigation Track. Melissa spoke on a panel titled “Navigating the New M&A Landscape: Lessons for Uncertain Times” as part of the Corporate Governance/Mergers & Acquisitions/Securities Law Track.
