SNL Financial Hosts 2009 Bank M&A Symposium with Sullivan & Cromwell

Mr. Cohen, Mr. Eitel and Mr. Menting were featured speakers at the SNL Financial 2009 Bank M&A Symposium, held in New York on October 6-7. The program addressed recent developments in the banking industry and include panel discussions on the outlook for bank M&A. Mr. Eitel and Mr. Menting co-chaired the program, and Mr. Cohen gave the keynote address in which he discussed the current state of the M&A market for financial institutions and the prospects for its revival. Mr. Eitel moderated the panels titled, "Regulation and Stimulus: The Role of the Government in Bank M&A Today" and "Branch, Asset and FDIC-Assisted Transactions." Mr. Menting moderated the panels titled, "Investment Bankers' Assessments and Predictions" and "Devil in the Details: Due Diligence and Accounting Considerations." Mr. Cohen also moderated a panel titled, "Views from the Top: M&A as a Tool for Addressing Strategic Uncertainty."
