Colbún S.A. Completes $500 Million Offering of Notes

S&C client Colbún S.A. completed its offering of $500 million of 3.950% notes due 2027. The notes were offered to qualified institutional buyers in the United States under Rule 144A and to offshore investors under Regulation S. The proceeds were used to fund the exchange for the 6.000% notes due 2020 issued by Colbún in connection with the intermediated tender offer launched on September 20 and will be used to redeem any of the 6.000% notes due 2020 not purchased in the tender offer.
Based in Santiago, Chile, Colbún is the second-largest power generation company in Chile's main power grid. S&C regularly handles Colbún's U.S. financing transactions.
