The Clearing House Annual Conference

On November 19 to 21, The Clearing House held its Annual Conference in New York City, where Mr. Cohen was presented with the Chairman’s Achievement Award. The award recognizes the lifetime leadership of an individual who has positively influenced, through his or her actions, the commercial banking commitment to consumers, businesses, communities and the banking industry itself. Henry M. Paulson, former United States Secretary of the Treasury, sent a congratulatory letter and former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made a surprise guest visit and speech, along with Richard Davis, Chairman of U.S. Bancorp, introduced Mr. Cohen. Previous recipients were Donald Kohn, former Vice Chairman of The Federal Reserve System (2012), and Michael R. Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City (2013).

Mr. Cohen moderated a panel titled, “Financial Crimes Compliance -- A Way Forward?” which explored how stakeholders can work together to bring the law, regulations, examination standards and industry practices into alignment.

Ms. Davy moderated a panel titled, “Cyberwarfare – Are We Winning the Fight?” which discussed the threat of cyber-attacks, whether that threat has grown or shrunk and what to expect in the future.
