November 4, 2016

S&C is advising Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in its definitive agreement with Starbucks to produce, bottle, distribute and market the first Teavana Ready-to-Drink tea in the United States, with an anticipated product launch in the first half of 2017.

AB InBev is the world's largest brewer and the third-largest fast-moving consumer goods company by firm value.

Starbucks is the premier roaster, marketer and retailer of specialty coffee in the world, operating in 68 countries. Starbucks acquired the Teavana® brand in 2012 through its acquisition of Teavana Holdings, Inc., a specialty retailer of premium looseleaf teas, authentic artisanal teawares and other tea-related merchandise.

The S&C team on the transaction was led by Francis Aquila, George Sampas, Matthew Goodman, Benjamin Goodchild and Steven Levick. Nader Mousavi, Spencer Simon and Justin Orr advised on intellectual property matters, and Ronald Creamer and Andrew Motten advised on tax matters.
