    Training and Evaluation

    The Firm believes in the importance of training and development for its Paralegals. The Firm provides an extensive program of organized training relevant to the Paralegal’s role in their practice area.

    Upon joining the Firm, Paralegals are assigned to one of the Firm’s five practice groups:

    • General Practice/Corporate
    • Litigation
    • Estates and Personal
    • Executive Compensation
    • Tax

    Within the General Practice group, Paralegals are assigned work in the following practice specialty areas:

    • Asset-Based Finance
    • Audit Letters
    • Blue Sky
    • Commodities Futures and Derivatives
    • Corporate Finance
    • Financial Institutions
    • Foreign Issuers
    • Investment Management
    • Mergers & Acquisitions
    • Project Finance
    • Real Estate

    As part of the Firm's initial training program, Paralegals currently participate in the following:

    • Human resources orientation
    • PC training
    • Library research orientation
    • Internal database training
    • Time entry training
    • On-line research database training
    • Paralegal Services Department orientation
    • Corporate Finance, Real Estate or Litigation Paralegal Training Program

    Paralegals also have access to the Firm’s education programs for new associates. In addition, Paralegals receive other administrative, computer and practice group-specific training. The Firm reviews the Paralegal’s performance and advises each Paralegal of the Firm’s assessment of his or her performance and progress. This formal review is generally performed at six months of employment and annually thereafter. Informal feedback and coaching are provided throughout the Paralegal’s career at the Firm.
