Seminar on Acquiring a U.S. Public Company

On September 5, Messrs. DeSombre and Liu hosted a seminar in Chinese on “Acquiring a U.S. Public Company: What a Non-U.S. Buyer Should Know Before Making an Offer.” The seminar was held in Los Angeles for a Chinese delegation led by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (SASAC).

Participants included senior SASAC officials and senior executives of a number of leading Chinese state-owned companies. Messrs. DeSombre and Liu discussed critical issues facing Chinese enterprises engaged in cross-border M&A, litigation and regulatory risks encountered in connection with deals, as well as practical lessons from recent experience on the mechanics and challenges of deal structuring and execution.
