S&C Wins 2012 Gribbon Pro Bono Advocacy Award

June 28, 2012

On June 28, at the biennial District of Columbia Circuit Judicial Conference, the judges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia awarded S&C the 2012 Daniel M. Gribbon Pro Bono Advocacy Award. The award recognizes "the extraordinary pro bono work" of S&C attorneys Benjamin Walker, Lee Ann Anderson McCall and Margaret Pfeiffer in the case ACLU v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Granted once every two years in recognition of exceptional pro bono legal services rendered in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (DDC), the award was determined by a committee of DDC judges and announced by Chief Judge Royce Lamberth at the judicial conference's main dinner, with the Chief Justice of the United States, dozens of other judges and several hundred lawyers in attendance.
