S&C Co-Authors Article with Promontory Financial on Recovery and Resolution Planning

November 2011

In November, S&C and Promontory Financial authored an article titled, “Recovery and Resolution Planning: Some Practical Considerations,” which discussed the emergence of the recovery and resolution plans, also known as RRPs, in the aftermath of the financial crisis. The article discusses how global supervisors intend for RRPs to serve as guidelines to rebalance or eventually dismantle financial institutions under pressure. The majority of economies in the G20 will adopt RRPs proposed by the Financial Stability Board. The article also discussed key parts of RRP process, explained certain challenges and provided guidance to financial institutions confronted with these requirements. Mr. Cohen and Ms. Simmons co-authored the article for S&C.
