June 28, 2010

On June 28, BusinessWeek.com published a column by Mr. Aquila titled, "Africa's Biggest Score: A Thriving Economy." The column discusses how Africa has become one of the newest and strongest emerging economies. Mr. Aquila noted that the average per capita GDP of the "African Lions" (the continent's strongest economies: Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia) now exceeds the per capita GDP of the "BRIC" nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China). He pointed to increased political stability, foreign investment from China and India and local entrepreneurship as key factors in Africa's recent economic growth. The column was also feature on the homepage of realclearmarkets.com and in the Businessweek Insider e-newsletter.
