    • Credit Suisse Group, in its pending purchase of Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management businesses in Europe (ex Switzerland), the Middle East and Africa for an undisclosed amount.
    • Lord Graham Kirkham and Brait Capital (South Africa), as lead investors in the $2.4 billion private equity-backed management buyout of Iceland Foods.
    • The financial adviser to China National Offshore Oil Company of China, in its $2.9 billion acquisition of certain oil & gas exploration assets from Tullow Oil (Uganda).
    • VeriFone Systems, in its acquisition of Destiny Electronic Commerce (South Africa).
    • BP, in its $7 billion sale of upstream assets in the United States, Canada and Egypt to Apache.
    • Nippon Steel, in its purchase of a 23.3 percent interest in Minas de Revuboe, Limitada (Mozambique) from Nippon Steel Trading.
    • Anglo American, in the $1.28 billion sale of its remaining 11.4 percent interest in AngloGold Ashanti (South Africa) to investment funds associated with Paulson & Co.
    • The financial adviser to Compagnie Financière Richemont, on Richemont’s restructuring and spin-off with Remgro (South Africa) of a 27.09 percent stake in British American Tobacco.
    • Dynatec, as seller of interests on the Ambatovy nickel and cobalt mining project (Madagascar) to Korea Resources, SNC-Lavalin and Sumitomo.
    • The financial adviser to Absa Bank (South Africa), in the $5.5 billion acquisition of a majority stake in Absa Bank by Barclays.
    • Norilsk Nickel, in the sale of its 20 percent stake in Gold Fields (South Africa) in the largest stock sale for a South African company.
    • The financial adviser to Potlatch, in the $480 million sale of its coated-paper business to Sappi (South Africa).
