Diana Wollman Quoted by Dow Jones Newswire on New IRS Plan

July 8, 2010

Ms. Wollman was quoted in the July 8 Dow Jones Newswire article, “Getting Personal: Tempest Over Requiring Risky Tax Disclosure.” The article discusses the reaction to an Internal Revenue Service proposal that would require corporations with more than $10 million to disclose their aggressive tax positions by filing a new form called a “Schedule UTP.” Dow Jones reported Ms. Wollman “noted the Schedule UTP could pit partners in investment partnerships, including hedge funds, against one another.” Ms. Wollman also observed, “If a partnership takes an aggressive position, a corporate partner may feel obliged to file a UTP highlighting it. Individual partners may then end up with adjustments in their filings.”
