Sam Seymour Appointed to Advisory Committee on New York Pro Bono Bar Admission Requirements

On May 22, Mr. Seymour was appointed to a new advisory committee tasked with making recommendations regarding New York state pro bono requirements. Beginning in 2013, prospective lawyers will be required to complete 50 hours of pro bono service before being admitted to the New York bar. On May 23, the National Law Journal reported on the formation of the committee, as well as on the benefits and challenges of the new prerequisite from the perspective of law schools and legal aid organizations.
