Ken Raisler Discusses Potential Impact of New Anti-Fraud Rules on Futures and Swaps Market in Financial Times Article

August 21, 2011

Mr. Raisler was quoted in the article, “Traders Unprepared for Anti-Fraud Rules,” in the August 21 issue of the Financial Times. The article explored how traders are reacting to new anti-fraud and manipulation rules for futures and swaps that went into effect last week, the first of many new derivatives regulations required by the Dodd-Frank Act. The article noted that many traders have been attending programs on the new rules, such as S&C’s energy trading compliance seminars, which were held in May in Houston and New York. “The new tools are quite crude and clearly expand their authority in a way that could be market disruptive,” Mr. Raisler told the publication.
