On October 7, Mr. Dietderich and Mr. Jerome spoke on Bloomberg TV about current trends in bankruptcy law and S&C's role in the changing market. In discussing what distinguishes S&C's restructuring and bankruptcy practice from other firms, Mr. Dietderich explained, “We see ourselves as the best M&A firm in the world. It's a very diverse M&A practice and bankruptcy, at a strategic level, is an extension of that franchise.” Mr. Jerome and Mr. Dietderich also analyzed the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Stern v. Marshall and the implications for the practice of bankruptcy law, venue rule changes in the bankruptcy code and a prediction for Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases going into 2012.
