Rodge Cohen Discusses Financial Oversight Council in American Banker

October 4, 2010

Mr. Cohen was quoted in the October 4 issue of American Banker in an article titled, “Reg Council Off to Rocky Beginning,” which assessed the first official meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council created by the Dodd-Frank reforms. “They’ve got a real dilemma,” Mr. Cohen told the publication, referring to the council. “They have been left with a large number of questions to explicitly answer and numerous ambiguities in the statute. Going out and getting industry input and moving quickly – that’s what they should be doing, not coming out with rules without input, without time to think it through. As much as people want certainty, they don’t want a regulatory system that doesn’t work.”
