On April 24, Mr. Cohen appeared on Bloomberg TV's “Money Moves” to discuss the sentiment among Wall Street banks following the financial crisis and their concerns regarding the implementation of Dodd-Frank reforms. He observed that, although financial institutions are less anxious, uncertainty remains about the interpretation of the Volcker Rule and an upcoming proposal that would limit counterparty risk. Mr. Cohen also commented on the calculation methodology related to counterparty risk and its potentially negative impact on U.S. and European markets. When asked what he would change or improve on Wall Street, Mr. Cohen pointed to the Basel III liquidity proposal. Mr. Cohen said, “The Basel III liquidity proposal would create serious problems throughout the markets.” He continued, “The Federal Reserve's own proposal is much more correlated with actual liquidity risk.”
