On August 18, Mr. Aquila was interviewed by Bloomberg TV about the outlook for M&A deals following the wave of recent deals. Mr. Aquila indicated that while we have not yet seen the “surge of transactions” that had been expected in 2010, that might be about to change. “When companies see other companies moving forward with big deals, hostile acquisitions, that, I think, will give managements and boards some degree of confidence that it's O.K. to get back in the market,” he said. Mr. Aquila added that he is encouraged by the variety of deals taking place. “We've been seeing [deals] in a lot of different sectors,” he said, “and that's something you normally see when you have a very strong M&A market.”
