Tom White is a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Litigation Group and a Co-Head of the Firm’s International Arbitration and Global Dispute Resolution Practice. Tom’s practice focuses on high-stakes litigation and arbitration proceedings in the US and around the world, and he has repeatedly been recognized as “Litigator of the Week” by AmLaw for his victories on behalf of some of the world’s largest corporations. He represented The Republic of Argentina in obtaining the reversal by the Second Circuit of the largest-ever judgment in the history of the Southern District of New York—a victory that President Milei called “historic, unthinkable, the greatest legal achievement in national history.”
Tom has also represented corporate clients including Goldman Sachs, Barclays, UBS, Volkswagen, DS Smith, and Sumitomo Corporation in matters ranging from securities litigation, M&A disputes including earnout and purchase-price adjustments, product liability matters, and ERISA class actions. Tom has spent his entire career at Sullivan & Cromwell after clerking for Hon. Loretta Preska of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
