    Lester Su is a Counsel based in our London office. Lester’s practice focuses on corporate financing, restructuring and, advising international corporations, investment and commercial banks and financial sponsors on their most complex, cross-border transactions. He also has deep experience in financing and corporate matters including acquisition finance, distressed debt transactions, secured and unsecured debt finance and bank lending transactions. Lester advises clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, private equity, natural resources and leisure. He joined Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 2014.

    • The Republic of Argentina defending against claims brought by holders of GDP-linked securities issued in 2005 and 2010, in a 4-week Commercial Court trial that took place in October/November 2022.
    • The RCF Lenders, and the sole bookrunner to Cineworld Group plc during its restructuring which involved a $450 million priority senior secured rescue facility and a second-out elevated term loan
    • The co-ordinating committee of lenders on multiple rounds of the global restructuring of Abengoa S/A, a Spanish renewables company operating in more than 80 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Middle East
    • Royal Bank of Scotland plc, HSH Nordbank AG, Piraeus Bank SA and Aegean Baltic Bank SA in connection with the consensual restructuring of Danaos Corporation’s debt totalling $2.2 billion
    • The ad hoc committee of secured noteholders and lenders of Towergate Insurance on the £1 billion debt restructuring, which was implemented by way of UK schemes of arrangements and had included $325 new-money investments by secured and unsecured creditors
    • The unsecured creditors in the contested proceedings to restructure Virgin Active using a restructuring plan under the new Part 26A of the Companies Act 2006
    • Ad Hoc Group of bondholders to European TopSoho Sarl, which is the majority owner of SMCP, a leading French retailer and the wholly owned subsidiary of Shandong Ruyi, the Chinese textile manufacturer, in connection with the restructuring transaction and ongoing enforcement.
    • Coca-Cola HBC AG in financing aspects of its wholly-owned subsidiary Coca-Cola HBC Holdings BV’s agreement to acquire approximately 94.7% of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Egypt S.A.E. from its major shareholders, a wholly-owned affiliate of The Coca-Cola Company and MAC Beverages Limited and certain of its affiliates for an agreed combined purchase price of US$427 million
    • PureCircle in its consensual corporate restructuring with its lenders and other stakeholders
    • AlixPartners as joint administrators of Swissport Holding International in connection with the Swissport restructuring through a scheme and pre-pack
    • The Carlyle Group on its investment in and restructuring of the Prezzo group
    • The investors of Hibu on the multiple restructuring of the company
    • The ad hoc committee of secured noteholders of Brighthouse Group Plc in connection with its debt-for-equity restructuring
    • The ad hoc group of lenders of Slater & Gordon in connection with its debt-for-equity restructuring and carve-out of the S&G UK business.
    • The ad hoc committee of bondholders of in connection with restructuring of the ASX-listed Emeco Holdings and its contemporaneous merger with its competitors, Orionstone and Andy’s
    • HPS Investment Partners on their £70 million super senior facility to PizzaExpress Group during its restructuring and on the restructuring of Avanti Communications
    • Lion Capital in connection with its subsidiary, JVUK Holdco Limited’s acquisition of John Varvatos’ UK business from in a pre-pack administration
