    Jordan Oreck is a member of Sullivan & Cromwell’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups based in Hong Kong, with an international practice spanning M&A, private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, investments in private funds, formation of funds and family offices, sports, and digital asset matters. As a result of his distinctive blend of private practice and senior in-house experience, Mr. Oreck has a first-hand understanding of clients’ priorities which allows him to provide clear, solutions-oriented advice and lead transactions with a practical, client-centric mindset.

    Mr. Oreck began his career in Sullivan & Cromwell’s New York office in 2011 before relocating to Hong Kong in 2014. From 2018 to 2025, he served as Managing Director & Deputy General Counsel of Blue Pool Capital, a Hong Kong-based investment manager and the family office of Joseph C. Tsai, where he was responsible for the negotiation and execution of hundreds of investments in targets around the globe operating in the consumer, technology, financial services, media and entertainment, healthcare, hospitality, travel, sports, and cryptocurrency sectors. 

    Mr. Oreck leverages his unique background to cut through complexity and drive negotiations forward in a constructive manner, ensuring deals are executed efficiently to achieve the best outcome for clients. Mr. Oreck also completed rotations in the Firm’s Melbourne, Sydney, and Tokyo offices, enhancing his ability to advise clients around the world on transactions with a truly global perspective and understanding of cross-cultural dynamics.

    In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Oreck works closely with his colleagues in the Firm’s Family Office and Tax Groups on philanthropy, U.S. and non-U.S. tax, structuring, estate planning, liquidity needs, citizenship and immigration, and other bespoke matters relating to family offices and ultra-high net worth clients.
