    Joon Seok Hong is Special Counsel in Sullivan & Cromwell’s General Practice Group and is resident in the Firm’s Hong Kong office.

    Joon maintains a versatile cross-border M&A and capital markets practice across a wide range of industries, from semiconductors, automotive and digital infrastructure to energy, mining and natural resources. He has worked on a broad spectrum of international securities offerings and transactions, including initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, debt offerings, direct listings, private placements and PIPEs. Joon also advises on complex, cross-border M&A, including de-SPACs, going-private transactions, carve-outs, joint ventures, private equity investments and financings. Joon also actively advises clients in a variety of industries on corporate governance, regulatory and strategic matters.

    Joon frequently advises clients in Korea, Taiwan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region and has previously worked in the Firm’s Melbourne, New York and Palo Alto offices.

    Prior to joining the Firm, Joon obtained a Ph.D. in political science with a focus on national security.
