James Black (“Jib”) is a member of the Firm’s Estates and Personal Group. He represents individual clients in all of their personal legal matters, particularly estate planning, and various charitable organizations. Mr. Black is involved in estates and trusts administration and also has significant real estate experience.
A member of the Florida and New York bars, Mr. Black has served as secretary of the Committee on Trusts, Estates and Surrogate’s Courts of the New York City Bar Association.
Mr. Black is active in a number of not-for-profit organizations, having served as president of the Scarsdale Golf Club, and is currently chair of the Committee on Trust and Estate Gift Plans at Rockefeller University and a member of the board of directors of the Alpha Tau Omega Foundation, The Flagler Foundation and the Sheridan Arts Foundation, and a member of the University of Florida Foundation National Board.
