    Jacob Singer is an associate in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Litigation Group and a member of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Group. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation, arbitration and mediation proceedings, corporate internal investigations, and labor and employment matters. Jacob’s pro bono work includes representation of indigent defendants pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act and pro se plaintiffs in mediating federal employment discrimination claims.

    • Represented Ericsson and its senior executive in obtaining dismissal with prejudice of a securities fraud action in the Eastern District of New York based on allegations of improper payments made in Iraq and other countries.
    • Representing Major League Baseball as well as the Astros and Tigers in three separate litigations arising out of MLB’s reorganization of the minor leagues.
    • Representing Goldman Sachs in class action accusing the bank of discriminating against more than 3,000 women in pay and promotions.
    • Representing Goldman Sachs in successfully defending claims brought by a former managing director, alleging defamation and other employment claims in a seven-day arbitration hearing. 
    • Represented a Latin American LNG facility in an ICC arbitration involving approximately $800 million in payments due under customer contracts.
    • Represented RPM International Inc. in a disclosure and accounting fraud action filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission in federal court concerning the timing of RPM’s accrual for a contingent liability. 
    • Represented a major automotive manufacturer in matters arising from claims related to emissions control devices.
