J. Sam Bonafede is an associate in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Litigation Group and a member of the Firm’s Criminal Defense & Investigations Group. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal and government investigations, and regulatory matters, including investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. He also advises clients on anti-money laundering matters, including preparing public comments on proposed federal regulations. Sam also represents clients in complex civil litigation in federal and state courts, including shareholder derivative actions and complex litigation involving constitutional and statutory issues. His pro bono representations include arguing a criminal appeal before the New York Appellate Division, Second Department.
